One-Step BERNINA air threader

With one step on the foot pedal, the threads are guided through the machine in no time at all by air. This leaves both hands free to guide the threads. The L 890 automatically brings the hooks into the right position for the air threader - simply press the foot control and off you go!

Whether stitch selection, individual stitch settings or personal memory - the touchscreen keeps all information ready at all times and allows changes to be made while sewing. The L 890 offers guided and expert modes. In both expert and guided mode, the thread tension, stitch length and differential feed are automatically set.

Stitch length, differential feed, thread tension, cutting width or any other stitch parameter can also be adjusted while sewing. With a simple turn of the mtc knob, you can fine-tune the amount of looping thread that encircles the edge of the fabric.

When you press down on the foot control with your heel, you can easily sew half a stitch. With the BERNINA Free-Hand System (FHS), you raise or lower the presser foot with your knee, leaving both hands free to guide the fabric.

The practical free-arm is an advantage when sewing closed textiles, as sleeves or cuffs can simply be slipped over it.

The L 890 sews with 2, 3, 4 or 5 threads, offering the right seam for every application and fabric, especially for high-stretch and knit fabrics. As a combo machine, it offers three different functions at once: Overlock stitches, cover stitches, and 4- and 5-thread combo stitches.
