One-Step BERNINA air threader

Threads are fed through the machine directly by air with one step on the foot pedal. This leaves both hands free to guide the threads. The BERNINA L860 automatically brings the looper into the correct position for the air threader - simply press the foot control and off you go!

Whether stitch selection, individual stitch settings or personal memory - the touchscreen keeps all information at hand at all times and allows changes to be made while sewing. The L 860 offers a guided mode and expert mode. In both modes, stitch selection automatically sets thread tension, stitch length and differential feed.

Not only fast sewing, but also slow stitch-by-stitch sewing is possible with the L 860, making it much easier to implement precise lines and curves flawlessly. You will also enjoy the extremely smooth running of the L 860. Best of all, you can easily adjust the maximum and minimum speed at any time on the touchscreen.

With the BERNINA Free-Hand System (FHS), you can easily raise and lower the presser foot using the knee lever. Furthermore, the presser foot can be swung out to the side for convenient access to the needles.

With the L 860 you get, quite literally, plenty of room for creativity. The L 860 has as much space to the right of the needles and clearance height as you'd expect from a BERNINA overlocker. Plus the practical free-arm, where sleeves or cuffs can simply be slipped over.

Stitch length, differential feed, thread tension, cutting width or any other stitch parameter can also be adjusted while sewing. With a simple turn of the mtc knob, you can fine-tune the amount of looping thread that encircles the fabric edge.
