Piping and much more

As the Piping Foot # 38 has unevenly high undersides, it is often referred to as the uneven presser foot. This makes the presser foot ideal for making narrow to medium piping and for sewing uneven layers of fabric.

The right side of the foot is slightly higher on Piping Foot #38, allowing fabric layers of different thicknesses to glide through easily when sewing. In addition to piping work, the foot is also suitable for sewing on thick ribbons, cords or Velcro fasteners. If the ribbon is flush with the edge of the thick left foot section under the higher side, the needle can grip the edge of the ribbon perfectly.
